Jigsaw Rabbit in Tomato Patch Poster

This painting is a homage to humour and fun! Jean loved the concept that we are each made up of lots of parts like a jigsaw puzzle, yet she wanted to combine this complex idea with an amiable and friendly animal, like the rabbit. Jean continued to add humour and lightness when she painted the tomato patch, and went one step further creating a sleepwalking rabbit surrounded by little white dots, which she described as fireflies, adding a little more magic to the scene. Jean’s unusual juxtapositions and light-hearted perspectives make this a joyous painting, reminding us not to take ourselves too seriously no matter how complex we may be.
